JiffyTax is operated by Claudia Chopik, a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
We collect information you provide directly, including your email address when you sign up, and financial data you enter such as receipt amounts, vendor names, dates, and invoice information. When you upload receipt images, those images are temporarily processed to extract HST information.
We use your information to provide the JiffyTax service, process your subscription payments, send you service-related emails, and improve the app. We do not use your financial data for any purpose other than providing you with the service.
When you upload a receipt image, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API solely to extract tax information such as HST amounts, vendor names, and dates. Images are not stored permanently by Anthropic and are not used to train AI models. Please refer to Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com for details on their data handling.
Your receipt and invoice data is stored securely. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as required to provide the service (such as payment processing through Paddle) or as required by law.
Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider. JiffyTax does not store your credit card information. Please refer to Paddle's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.

We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We will only send you marketing emails if you have given us express consent. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
